The Crescent Awards Ceremony and Dinner will be held on Saturday, 19 August 2023 beginning at 6:00pm.
Crescent Awards Dinner Venue
The Crescent Awards Dinner will be held at Alencia, located in Dandenong South. The Marquee Ballroom presents contemporary architecture and a spacious interior that will serve as the perfect backdrop for the Crescent Awards ceremony and three course halal dinner. There is free parking on-site and a prayer room.
The Crescent Awards Ceremony and Dinner will be hosted by Iman Balla.
Iman went to Camberwell Girls Grammar School, where she was School Captain in 2014. For her tertiary studies she completed a Bachelor of Science, Graduate Diploma in Psychology and Masters of Secondary Teaching at the University of Melbourne. From 2019 – 2021 Iman worked as a Secondary School Science and Psychology teacher, at Southern Cross Grammar. Iman has volunteered as a Tour Guide at the Islamic Museum of Australia for several years and has previously worked as a Program Coordinator at the Bachar Houli Foundation. From June 2020 to May 2021, Iman led a community-based research team aimed at improving the mental health of youth from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. Iman is a former track and field athlete, having represented Australia in the Women’s Long Jump and 4x100m relay. Iman currently works as an Aide to the Governor of Victoria.
