Crescent Care Packs
Originally conceived by one of Crescent Foundation’s directors, Professor Talal Yassine, the Crescent Care Pack initiative aims to help people experiencing homelessness by providing them with a pack of basic sanitary items.
The program grew out of conversations between Talal and people he met on his evening walks around Sydney, and one single test pack created in 2020.
Before attempting to launch a larger care pack initiative, we designed and produced just one test pack, to ensure design and functionality.
We funded and produced 150 packs and volunteers from Crescent Foundation and our partners, Brothers in Need helped distribute them. The packs included toothbrushes, toothpaste, and razors in addition to other important hygiene products. Recipients of the packs were interviewed and based on their feedback, we further refined the design.
We partnered with Brothers in Need and Unity Grammar College to expand the program. Volunteers and students helped source contents and fill the packs before being distributed to 2000 people.
Crescent Foundation is looking for corporate partners and donors that can help us scale the Crescent Care Pack initiative to provide 50,000 homeless people with essential resources. There are many ways to contribute, and options are flexible.
